At G/O Media, we are seeking a coach/player to work with our talented team. This is a great opportunity for a senior backend engineer who wants to transition to a management role. You get to work with different areas of software development, Big Data pipelines, newsletters delivery, high availability framework and video streaming. We embrace service oriented architecture in the implementation of all core platform features. Our platform runs on AWS and Google Cloud Platform, our deployments are automated.

What will you be doing:
Be part of the full life cycle of our product
Work on architecture with our engineer
Help us finetune and improve our solutions
Teaming up with our data science team to deliver personalized content
As an innovative builder, you will partner with others in Product, DevOps and Business to work on our Media platform.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of professional development experience
Experience with Scala (Play Framework and Akka is preferred)
An ability to adapt to fast iterations and prior experience writing clean and maintainable code
Experience with building and consuming HTTP/JSON services
Experience with data pipelines is a huge plus
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
