About the Role:
G/O Media is currently looking for a Deputy Editor for The Root to help lead and grow one of the internet’s most-read websites covering the Black community.
The ideal candidate is a strong editor with extensive editing and reporting experience and a deep understanding of The Root’s unique editorial voice. They must have interests in politics, culture, entertainment and more, and be able to blend those things into The Root’s already rigorous coverage of Black culture.
We are looking for someone who is equal parts news nerd and fearless journalist, who has a track record of leading a team in producing incisive daily output and ambitious features and investigative work.
