About the Role:
G/O Media, Inc is seeking an accounting professional to assist with the monthly accounting and financial reporting functions for the organization. This position requires an individual who is responsible, reliable and attentive to providing accurate and timely information to various parts of the organization. A suitable candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability not only to focus on and understand document transaction level details, but also assist in the close and reporting schedule and understand the various interrelationships among the balance sheet and income statement.
Support Finance Department in managing monthly close process, including but not limited to:
o Proposing journal entries
o Cash receipts and reconciliation
o Review and management of fixed assets
o Recognition of various revenue streams
Prepare supporting balance sheet schedules and investigate reconciling items
Various ad hoc analysis and other special projects to support the entire organization
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Three to five years accounting experience in a small to mid-size company
Well-organized and detail oriented with demonstrated effective time-management
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Initiative and independent judgment in carrying out job responsibilities and creative innovation to streamline and monitor business processes to ensure effective operations
Excellent knowledge of Excel; proficiency in MS Office; Netsuite is a plus
Media/publishing experience is preferred, but not required
