As a Director of Data Science you will work closely with the executive team to help define the long term vision and strategy for our Data teams (data science, engineering, analytics), improving the way millions of customers find novel and nostalgic food experiences on our platform. This position will report directly to our Head of Engineering & Data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience leading and inspiring high-performing teams.
- 4+ years direct manager experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute data science strategies that drive business outcomes.
- Strong background in data modeling and analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL, and a scripting language such as Python or R.
- Experience with search and recommendation systems (hands on).
- Experience with experimentation (A/B testing, diff-in-diff experiments).
- Background in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or similar field is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Help shape our global data strategy and long term vision, across data science, engineering, and analytics.
- Directly influence Product roadmaps, working closely with our Executive team.
- Use experimentation as part of our strategy to improve user engagement, product discovery, and UX.
- Define and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of data science initiatives.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.
- Be a strong technical manager, leading by example in technical problem solving.
- Build and lead the best team in the industry.
Salary range: $200,000 - $300,000 (negotiable, depending on experience)
