The Resident Licensing Manager leads a team of specialists who perform a variety of pre-licensing functions while ensuring compliance with company, state and federal regulations. The RL Manager oversees the reservation and scheduling of license exams for the appropriate LOA, ensures background questionnaires and resident license applications are submitted accurately and in a timely manner. The RL Manager also validates the eligibility of pre-licensed candidates to ensure once they pass the state exam, we can expedite their resident, non-resident licenses and carrier appointments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide direction and support in all phases of the pre-license candidate onboarding, training, exam and resident license application
  • Develop, measure, and monitor productivity goals and quality levels of team members and redirect resources as needed
  • Identify opportunities to enhance or streamline workflows and provide recommendations to management
  • Build, stabilize and optimize department processes, workflows and tools
  • Hire, train, and provide performance feedback; coach and develop employees
  • Take an active role in creating an environment of innovation, collaboration, transparency, accountability and trust

Skills & Requirements:

  • 2 + years of licensing experience is required; insurance licensing preferred
  • 2 + years of supervisory experience is required
  • Must have thorough understanding of state and federal licensing requirements
  • Detail oriented to ensure data integrity in the compliance management system and other resources
  • Experience with licensing resources (e.g. NIPR, NC NAIC, RegEd)
  • Degree in business or insurance (e.g. FLMI) or equivalent experience
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel
