GoHealth is looking for a Director of Data Science to join as leader of the Business Analytics function, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. This individual will be responsible for guiding the work of the Data Science team, will help create and lead strategy, and oversee the team’s execution.  We seek candidates with the ability to effectively manage a team, derive analytical insights from a variety of business contexts, and communicate those insights effectively to a variety of other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of data scientists in quantitative analyses with product management, business stakeholders, and data engineers to identify and solve business problems
  • Collaborate cross functionally to manage project goals and expectations as the Data Science team delivers on its initiatives
  • Present data and analytical findings to key business stakeholders at all levels of leadership
  • Stay current with leading edge systems, methods, and best practices for data science and analytics; successfully introduce technology and process changes across the organization
  • Continue building best practices for organization-wide data usage and analysis
  • Mentor, guide, and develop Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers on the team

Skills and Experience:

  • Master's or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
  • 7+ years of experience driving data science solutions and 3+ years of hands-on experience managing a team of data scientists
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and effectively lead a team while effectively prioritizing and allocating their time and resources
  • Proficient in use of Python for manipulating data and drawing insights from data sets
  • Experience using machine learning techniques such as regressions and classification analysts, clustering, neural networks, etc.
  • Knowledge of build systems, version control systems using Git, Bitbucket, SVN, or Team Foundation
  • Proven ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that can drive business value
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing to colleagues with varying degrees of analytical knowledge and understanding
