The GoFundMe team is searching for our next People Operations leader with a passion for building high-performance teams, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of collaboration. We're seeking a dynamic People Operations Lead to report directly to our Director of People Operations in the US to spearhead HR strategy and execution for our growing team in Argentina. As the local HR expert, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our People Operations with both regional needs and global priorities, ensuring we deliver an exceptional employee experience.

This role offers the unique opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced, global organization. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our Buenos Aires hub by driving HR initiatives that support employee engagement, workplace innovation, and organizational growth. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely while maintaining a strong presence in our Buenos Aires office.

The Job…

HR Strategy and Operations

  • Lead with Vision: Act as the primary HR representative for our Argentina team, translating business objectives into people-centric strategies that support the growth and success of our local and global operations.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Provide actionable, data-driven insights by analyzing key HR metrics. Partner with cross-functional teams to use this data to refine HR strategies and drive continuous improvements in employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Proactive Strategic Partnerships: Build strong relationships with department heads, People & Workplace teams, and leadership to foster strategic partnerships that advance the talent management cycle—from recruitment to performance management, learning, and development.
  • Unified Communication & Collaboration: Be the bridge between the local team and global headquarters, ensuring clear, consistent, and proactive communication. Work closely with US-based leadership to align global HR initiatives with local needs, optimizing cross-functional collaboration to drive cultural and operational success.
  • Lead Change with Confidence: Manage the implementation of global HR programs, customizing them as needed for local context while driving change management efforts to ensure the smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and initiatives.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance HR operations, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company goals.

Compliance and Policies

  • Ensure Compliance: Partner with external vendors and internal teams to ensure full compliance with Argentine labor laws, including employment contracts, payroll, benefits, and terminations.
  • Policy Leadership: Update and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect both local labor regulations and global best practices. Work closely with legal and external advisors to manage legal and compliance matters.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential risks and compliance gaps, providing proactive solutions to mitigate any impact to the business or employees.

Employee Engagement and Culture

  • Drive Culture & Inclusion: Champion our GoFundMe culture within the Buenos Aires hub by promoting the company’s values of trust, respect, and collaboration. Develop initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued, heard, and empowered.
  • Champion Employee Experience: Create and implement innovative programs that enhance employee well-being and professional growth. From onboarding to development opportunities, you’ll ensure that every step of the employee lifecycle is optimized for success.
  • Foster Collaboration: Establish yourself as a trusted advisor, mediator, and partner, addressing employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and maintaining a positive, productive work environment.
  • Proactive Engagement: Build a continuous feedback loop with employees to ensure high engagement and retention. Regularly evaluate and adjust engagement strategies to keep the pulse on team morale and performance.

You… 

  • Experience & Expertise: 8+ years in HR, with a focus on people operations, compliance, and strategic HR in fast-paced, tech-driven environments (preferably software/technology). Deep knowledge of Argentine labor laws and HR best practices.Tech-
  • Savvy & Strategic: Proficient in HRIS systems such as Greenhouse, Paylocity, or similar. Remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Google Meet), with a track record of using data to inform decisions and drive strategic HR initiatives that foster growth and engagement.
  • Change & Collaboration Leader: Skilled in change management, with experience driving smooth transitions, including vendor changes, while fostering collaboration across teams. Comfortable in hybrid/remote environments, building trust and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • You: A natural relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Proactive and solution-oriented, they are impatient to be great, always striving for excellence and embodying a “find a way” mentality. They earn trust every day, demonstrating reliability and integrity in every interaction. Driven by a deep purpose, they consistently align their work with company values and are committed to making a positive impact on both teams and business outcomes.
  • Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
  • Hybrid role: Requirement to be in the office in Buenos Aires 2-3 days a week.
