The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Lead Accountant to join our accounting team! This position will report to the Accounting Manager & will be responsible for leading our general accounting functions, consolidations, reporting, audit and statutory support and accounts payable.
The Job…
- General Ledger - Lead accounting team in the month-end close process, including project management of close timing and managing/reviewing of journal entries, accruals and month-end account reconciliations within the close timeline
- Consolidations - Manage global consolidation and intercompany expense management for domestic and international entities
- Reporting and account analysis - Assist with balance sheet and P&L flux analyses. Research discrepancies, and assist in the preparation of the month-end financial package.
- Audit and statutory support - Act as key liaison for external audits and due diligence process by preparing supporting schedules, locating documents, and responding to inquiries.
- Accounts payable - Manage the accounts payable function, including review of expense coding & vendor payments
- Ownership of accounting systems’ design, build/configuration, optimization and maintenance to drive team efficiency & enhancements while maintaining compliance and reporting integrity.
- Identify and provide guidance on accounting implications of business initiatives to operational business leaders.
- Scale and implement internal control process improvements and department procedure documentations. Identify areas for optimization and implement initiatives to drive sustained growth.
- Lead and/or manage accounting projects and other process improvements for the accounting department.
- Be a trusted business partner & work closely with external teams & contribute to other departments’ goals and duties as needed.
You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA preferred; Experience at a Big Four Firm a plus
- 6+ years corporate accounting experience, preferably mix of public and industry experience
- Experience with system implementations
- Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
- Experience with an ERP system and experience with NetSuite a plus
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to proactively drive results - quick to learn and adjust accordingly
- Strong drive to continually improve everything (workpapers, processes, yourself!)
- Highly detail oriented and able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, stay organized and meet critical deadlines
- Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work across all levels of management and across functions
- Demonstrated success leading a team with track record of developing high performance

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $100,000 - $150,000 + equity + benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
