The Payouts team builds the central foundation for how our Payfac (Payment Facilitator) business manages payouts, pricing, reconciliation, and reporting. We are responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the services and systems that pay out to the merchant, collect funds from the merchant, perform real-time pricing, keep a record of all customer activity, reconcile activity across the board, and create flexible and scalable reporting.  We work with other engineering teams to launch products for our customers, and we also build tooling, datasets, and manage operations with analytics, finance, treasury, accounting, and customer success teams across our organization.

What you'll get to do…

As a Senior Software Engineer, Payouts, you will create tools to empower each of our customer types: building best-in-class management and data products in the backend, and elegant yet powerful interfaces in the frontend, to help them optimally run their respective businesses.  Equally, you will Architect solutions and execution through hands-on development, quality-assurance, and prototyping.  You will deliver code in an Agile software development using test-driven development methodologies, participate and promote architectural initiatives, balancing long-term velocity with short-term customer needs, and play an active role in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing and production release.  Product will be a closer partner as you craft great product experiences.

Your experience should include…

  • 4+ years of coding experience with JavaScript and at least one common Web framework: Node.js/Express, Sinatra, Flask
  • 3+ years' experience building single-page web apps using modern frameworks, e.g. Ember.js, AngularJS, React, etc.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts, core JavaScript concepts like scope/closures, the event loop and asynchronous callbacks, promises.
  • 3+ years' experience developing, optimizing, and deploying scalable, highly performant web applications
  • Familiarity with asset pipelines, build tools, testing, continuous integration
