The UXCore team at GoDaddy is responsible for developing and managing GoDaddy's shared Design System and Component Library. Our projects are deployed to and used by hundreds of Front-End engineers across all of GoDaddy's product teams to aid in their mission of helping our small business customers start, grow and run their ventures. We are looking for a strong Front-End Engineer with a full-stack awareness to join our team and help deliver a best-in-class experience to GoDaddy engineers and customers. If you have the passion, enthusiasm and ability to create compelling web interactions for customers on their way

 

Location: 

Your manager is remote in NYC but the team is distributed across the United States and even Europe. You can work remotely or from one of our many GoDaddy offices if you would prefer. 

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Colorado, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

 

What you'll get to do...

As a developer on the UXCore team you will get to participate developing features and developer tooling for our Design System and Component Library for hundreds of engineers across all of GoDaddy's product teams. You will have the opportunity help drive and even own large initiatives as we maintain our focus on quality and performance for our downstream teams. Projects past and present include, but are not limited to, deploying innovative themeing systems, fine-grained build and bundle size reductions for performance improvements, dynamic documentation systems; many of which were ideated and driven by team members hopefully like you!

In addition to our Design System and Component Library work, we like to contribute our experience widely. Many of our team members participate in internal "Guilds" and special interest groups as well as external meetups and conferences, giving presentations on their technical expertise. Additionally we like to contribute code and learnings back to the Open Source community (Check our GitHub page: http://github.com/godaddy).

 

Your experience should include...

  • Strong understanding of core web technologies: Javascript, CSS3-4, HTML5, React
  • Using and understanding the role of "last mile" build tools like Webpack or similar
  • Using git and git-based workflows
  • Working with highly agile development teams
  • Writing great code and creating unit and integration tests that prove it
  • Being active in the professional development community for at least 3 years

 

You might also have...

  • Some experience in DevOps, like deploying static sites to Amazon S3 or building Docker containers and deploying to Kubernetes
  • Some experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, especially in Node.js
  • Experience maintaining or working in Lerna-based mono-repos
  • Working knowledge of web vitals performance metrics, like "largest contentful paint", "first input delay", etc
  • Experience collaborating with experts across disciplines to design and implement high quality features
  • Experience contributing to Open Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products
