Clio is more than just a tech company–we’re transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals across the globe while increasing access to justice. We’re looking for Software Developers who are self-taught or learned via bootcamp to join our rapidly growing engineering team. This role is for someone who is passionate about furthering their development skills at a growing tech company, building innovative solutions, being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact. No degree required, we’ll set you up in an inclusive, collaborative team, led by strong mentors.

This role is available to candidates within commuting distance to one of our offices in Burnaby, Calgary or Toronto and can be performed remotely or in-office when they reopen.

What you’ll work on:

  • Writing code in Ruby and/or TypeScript
  • Shipping features, bug fixes, and projects in Clio’s core applications, used every day by our customers
  • Building software that scales to meet the needs of our customer base today and tomorrow

What you’ll need:

  • Ability to write code and a desire to improve
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn and improve yourself
  • Tendency to seek solutions when you find problems

We use Ruby on Rails and TypeScript, but are language-agnostic in how we hire. We cross-train developers from a variety of programming backgrounds–Java, Python, C/C++, and JavaScript–and are happy to help you learn when you get here!

Where we work
We are leading the evolution of how teams work together in a digital-first world. When our offices reopen, you will have the option to remain remote, work from one of our Office Hubs in Burnaby, Toronto, or Calgary, or a mix of both. At Clio, we pride ourselves in enabling our teams to do the best work of their careers and are committed to providing the tools and infrastructure needed, wherever you choose to log in from.

We require Junior Software Developers to be within 100 km of one of our offices (Burnaby, Calgary, Toronto).

We are an award-winning team that is both human and high performing–and are setting new standards for what it means to be a tech company. Clio has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Most Admired Cultures and has topped Fast Company’s list of Most Innovative Companies.
