The role

You will report to the Financial Processes Development Lead and optimise many different financial processes. This will include identifying, mapping, re-designing, and implementing processes, controls, and financial systems. The work will require significant interaction with different teams across the business.

The role will involve 

  • Identifying financial and related activities in need of improvement.
  • Mapping existing processes and re-designing those to meet current and future business needs.
  • Creating and bringing for approval related policies and procedures.
  • Identifying control weaknesses and design and implement controls to address.
  • Improving performance by standardisation and automation of financial activities.  
  • Working with people from across the company from all functions and in all levels.

 

Requirements

  • You have a firm grasp of self-serve data tools like Looker, Tableau, QlikView or similar.  We’re using Looker at GoCardless.
  • You have demonstrated experience tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of the inner workings of financial departments. Someone who is no stranger to financial and accounting terms. 
  •  You will have an  understanding financial control frameworks (e.g. SOX an advantage) with previous experience in developing and implementing controls
  • You have demonstrated experience tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are able to bring the cross-functional team with you as you develop and implement new processes.

Their feedback helped us develop our 'Adaptive Working' model, rolling out mid to late 2021. It's built around three components: days in the office, remote working, and enhanced environments. This means teams will be able to come into a GC office between one and three days per week for collaboration and teamwork, with the rest spent working remotely to enable a healthy work/life balance. We’ll also be reimagining our office environments so they enhance the collaboration and socialisation aspects our GeeCees told us they value most highly.

We continually review this approach in conjunction with the changing restrictions in each of our locations; additionally we offer support to maintain wellbeing and comfort, including subsidised home office equipment, workstation assessments and a range of remote social activities you can dip in and out of whenever you fancy.
