About the Team

The Catalog Operations Team is responsible for the curation, maintenance and expansion of GOAT Group’s metadata as it relates to the overall product catalog. This team works to improve accuracy, depth and range over time, ensuring high quality output that enhances discovery, purchasing and selling experiences across GOAT Group. The metadata that comes together creates new category products (integrity, accuracy and relevancy). The overall health of GOAT Group’s Catalog will be the main objective of this role. This role is responsible for the overall integrity processes, setting standards and implementing across the wider Catalog Operations team with support from the Catalog Operations Senior Lead. 

In this role, you will:

  • Work independently and with the Catalog Operations Lead to understand priority focus areas for category expansion categories and maintaining integrity through further categorization and the backfill of data within the wider Catalog. 
  • Be both proactive and reactive in assembling Metadata to create products. Proactively creating products to fill gaps within the pre-defined Buying & Catalog guardrails while also hitting run the business SLAs for assigned tasks. 
  • Own socialization of the Goat Group standards as they relate to Category Expansion and Integrity with cross-functional peers. 
  • Work with the Product Manager for the Catalog tooling to become an expert in the tool and be able to train others. 
  • Provide Catalog tool feature feedback and requests to the Catalog Operations Lead. 
  • Suggest new ways to optimize integrity workflows based on knowledge and direct work within this area. 
  • Conduct reviews and QA of the existing catalog to find and update missing product metadata.
  • Identify and create processes around QA, data filtering and backfill to prevent potential data duplication, looking for opportunities to automate manual processes 
  • Understand and achieve team success frameworks as defined by the Catalog team leads. 
  • Be able to debug reported Metadata issues and escalate to leads when relevant. 
  • Work with Buying and Research team members to deeply understand guardrails and standards as it relates to the creation of products within the Catalog.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 5+ years of experience in an e-commerce or marketplace environment or relevant experience.
  • Possess extensive knowledge about streetwear and luxury brands, vintage items, trends and culture.
  • Be naturally inquisitive, have a passion for digging deep into niche subject matters.
  • Experience working in content operations, data quality, data analytics, or a similar area at a consumer technology company.
  • Technical curiosity to learn and build an expertise in new processes and technical applications, internal software.
  • Experience working with product managers, cross-functional teams, scoping and requesting tech features.
  • Comfortable with evaluating ambiguous data, "digging deeper", strong emphasis on issue resolution, research.
  • Ability to write simple SQL requests to identify missing product information, work with the Product Catalog and Analytics team to outline requirements for basic reports/dashboards. (certification is a plus)
  • Experience with setting up and conducting Quality Assurance post product creation, documenting optimization procedures. 
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets knowledge (certification is a plus)
  • Strong ability to prioritize work autonomously, be prompt, and execute under strict timelines.
  • Great interpersonal skills, ability to and gather and share information clearly and concisely with project leadership, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders.
