Your work-life opportunity:

As an engineering manager for Payments and Fraud team you will lead a senior team of engineers building and supporting next generation of our payments platform and antifraud tools. You will work mostly with backend-based solutions making sure that our systems are highly available, secure and work well in different countries. As the manager of the team, you will also be the support backbone of your team, helping them grow and ensuring that they are motivated by their work and are a high performing team.

  • Manage and grow a team of engineers that build and support one of the most sensitive and impactful systems in the company
  • Ensure high availability, reliability and performance of systems and services owned by the team
  • Support the team in delivering complex projects with very little room for mistakes
  • Ensure that the team has well defined tech and productivity KPIs, is focused on achieving their goals, and delivering on its commitments

You have:

  • Degree in computer science or similar
  • At least 5 years playing an Individual Contributor or Technical Lead role with a track record of impactful projects
  • At least 3 years managing an agile team of engineers with proven ability to grow your team/hire, track its velocity, and keep them motivated
  • Proven ability to define clear KPIs and gather the necessary data to back up decisions
  • Experience working with microservices end-to-end
  • Experience working with security sensitive projects
  • Basic understanding of payments industry
  • A deep sense of ownership with clear, demonstrable experience of proactiveness
  • Ability to understand the impact of changes within an engineering organisation and how best to manage that impact
