Glovo is a global player in the on demand delivery space operating in 20+ countries and growing. In 2018 we launched a new city every 4 days on average and shipped new features every day. As we continue to scale globally and develop new services and features across our platforms, we also need to ensure that our features and systems are delivered in to the hands of our users and productions systems in a reliable way. To help with this, we are seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead our automated testing team that will build tooling and infrastructure to make testing a breeze.
You will bring a background in automated testing across one or more platforms and be able to provide leadership to the team to ensure our product engineering teams are able to employ different testing practices. You have demonstrated experience building, managing and supporting a team of engineers and understand that getting out of the way and enabling growth through failure is better than being hands on. Continuous integration and delivery/deployment pipelines are how you ship software and you are capable of enabling this in the engineering organisation.

You will:

  • Manage and grow a team of engineers that will build tooling and infrastructure to enable different types of automated testing across the engineering organisation
  • Be the support backbone of your team allowing them to grow and be a high performing team
  • Enable other product and platform teams to ensure they are able to deploy to production with confidence by  
  • Ensure that even as we expand our testing capabilities, test stages of our builds are kept fast, efficient and provide accurate feedback
  • Develop key KPIs for the team and organisation around testing and ensure that the team is delivering on its commitments and achieving their goals


  • Degree in computer science or similar
  • At least 3 years experience working with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins, Travis CI, GoCD.
  • At least 3 years managing a team of engineers with proven ability to grow your team/hire and keep them motivated
  • A deep understanding of the concepts around continuous delivery and deployment and different types of functional and non functional testing
  • A deep sense of ownership for what you do with clear, demonstrable experience of proactiveness
  • Ability to understand the impact of changes within an engineering organisation and how best to manage that impact
