Recent innovations from GH Labs resulted in several commercially available rapid COVID-19 antigen tests, an AI-enabled smartphone app to detect cervical cancer, and a portable cold chain device that enables vaccine delivery to remote communities, among many other tools and technologies advanced for the people who need them most.

About the Job:

Internships typically start in June and run through August/September.

Global Health Labs is seeking an undergraduate-level summer Intern to join a dynamic Facilities team and ensure day to day facility related operational support.  Ideal candidate is ready to serve in whatever capacity is needed while providing exceptional service. 

Role Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Facilities Coordinator Intern to support operations and ensure an efficient, effective, and safe working environment. Reporting to the Manager of Safety & Facilities, they’ll also work closely with research colleagues, accounting, legal and the lab manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Facilities Coordinator Intern will:

  • Coordinate with departments to ensure new contracts are properly entered into the contracting database for routing and signature.
  • Restock office and kitchen supplies.
  • Keep track of regular and ad-hoc facility expenses and record properly in the Travel and Expense system.
  • Conduct market research and compare costs and benefits when evaluating new vendors.
  • Research new services and appliances to facilitate operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work with lab manager to ensure timely purchasing of lab supplies and equipment.
  • Check rooms and furniture to identify needs for repairs or renovations.
  • Maintains laboratory inventories and keeps laboratory spaces organized and appropriately stocked by ensuring consumables.
    and special items are efficiently ordered, received, and delivered to their appropriate locations.
  • Provide backup support for other members of the facilities team.
  • Receiving and distribution of packages for the laboratory and office space.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Facilities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Experienced in general office operations.
  • Organized and skilled at documenting work for the benefit of others.
  • Worked successfully in collaborative team environments to support overall team goals.
  • Experience with purchasing and expense system is a plus (Salesforce or Coupa).
  • Comfortable driving short distances for work related business.
  • Customer service experience

Pay & Benefits:

GH Labs is committed to paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $25.00/hr. to $40.00/hr. Intern hourly rates are determined by current level of education.
