Givens Estates is looking for a Dining Services Director to join our team! The primary purpose of the Dining Services Director is to plan and direct all activities of the Dining Service operations to achieve the highest quality experience for residents, visitors, and team member. The Dining Services Director upholds the mission of Givens Estates in daily direction, training, and monitoring of all food service activities.  

What you'll do:

  • Support Dining personnel in planning, preparing, and serving regular and therapeutic diets to residents, visitors, and team members
  • Oversees and mentors dining team members in the day-to-day operations of Dining Services
  • Monitors workforce to meet budgetary requirements 
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and meeting established goals through routine monitoring and reporting
  • Collaborates with residents on various committees to enhance dining services
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment purchases
  • Resolves all issues brought forth by Dietitian, Health Department, and State Agency
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all Dining Services team members
  • Ensures that the organization’s culture and inclusion initiatives are communicated and embodied by the Dining Services Team
  • Responsible for ongoing strategies to improve the Dining Services experience for residents
  • Performs any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

  • Be a progressive and creative thinker
  • Prefer a 4 year degree in Hospitality Services Management or related field from an American Culinary Foundation certified curriculum program at a college or university
  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in hospitality, multi-unit, medium volume food service operations
  • Demonstrated success with innovative customer service techniques and merchandising
  • Knowledge of healthy trends in foods and diets as well as dietary requirements and restrictions for senior adults
  • Familiarity with POS management systems
  • Ability to manage a budget, purchasing, payroll control, and expense management
  • Certified in Serve Safe & Sanitation or equivalent food handler’s certificate
  • Possess or have achieved equivalent certification of State Dietary Manager’s Course
  • Experience with a start-up is nice to have
