Givens Communities is looking for a Senior Account to support our Affordable Communities as well as Givens Estates in accounting operations. The primary purpose of this position includes maintaining accurate accounting records, meeting frequent reporting deadlines, researching transactions and assisting staff. The position ensures that financial statements are maintained in compliance with GAAP and is leveraged as a finance resource for both internal and external contacts.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate accounting operations for Givens Affordable Communities and works with the Accounting team to ensure all Givens Estates accounting operational needs are fulfilled
  • Reconcile accounts on a periodic basis for timely management reporting
  • Review and approve accounts payable for assigned departments
  • Assist in annual preparation of audit work papers and work with auditors on a yearly basis
  • Coordinate monthly and annual financial close schedule
  • Consult with department heads about reporting needs
  • Track information for departments as requested
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 3 years previous accounting experience preferred
  • Professional certifications preferred (CPA, CHAM, CMA)
  • Experience with multiple software programs, including Microsoft Office, database management, electronic communication systems, Matrixcare, Yardi Voyager, etc. is preferred
  • Should be familiar with all aspects of accounting records, such as accounts payable and payroll tax returns
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and when reporting financials
