Givens Highland Farms is looking for a full-time Programming Assistant to join our team! This position plays a key role in enriching the lives of our residents by assisting with life enrichment programs and leisure services. You’ll work primarily with our Skilled Nursing department but also help out our Independent Living services as well. In this role you'll help ensure that our residents enjoy high-quality care, meaningful engagement, and enriching experiences in both group and one-on-one settings. The working schedule is primarily Monday - Friday. However, some weekends and evenings will also be required.
What you'll do:
- Assist with planning and facilitating group programs and one-on-one activities for residents
- Coordinate with the Programming Coordinator to implement creative and meaningful programs
- Provide individual social and physical stimulation for residents with specific needs
- Organize and secure books, magazines, music, and other requested media for residents
- Help maintain accurate documentation of program activities and resident participation
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and facilitating offsite trips and outings for residents
- Participate in department meetings, provide input, and support team initiatives
- Work closely with resident family members during end of life care
- Assist with publishing the monthly activity calendar
- Attend Resident Council and interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Programming Coordinator
What you'll need:
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- A college degree in Creative/Expressive Arts, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, or Recreational Therapy is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with older adults is preferred.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude are essential in this role.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with resident transfers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, along with a collaborative spirit.
Compensation $18.00 an hour, plus great benefits!
