EARN WHILE YOU LEARN!

Givens Communities is offering a 10-week Nurse Aide (CNA) training program. Trainees will take the N.C. Nurse Aide I curriculum with all tuition, books, supplies, and exam fees covered while earning a full-time paycheck. This position will also receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus to be paid out in increments over the first year of employment. 

In this position, you will attend class each week for 20-24 hours, broken up into multiple class sessions. The training program is held at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain. Trainees will also have the opportunity to become familiar with each of Givens Communities' clinical settings, in both Black Mountain and Asheville, by working several days as a Resident Assistant. With successful completion of the course, you will take the N.C. State Nurse Aide examination to be listed on the N.C. Nurse Aide I registry.

After course completion, you will have a 1-year commitment to work as a CNA in one of Givens Communities' clinical settings. 

 After program completion, every effort will be made to match you in the Givens Communities clinical setting and schedule that is a best fit for you and the facility.

Fall 2024 class begins October 9th with a completion date of December 13th. Application deadline will be September 16th. 
The schedule for this role will be five days per week, mostly weekdays, with several Saturdays required. 

If selected, required documents will include:

  • High School Diploma or GED transcript
  • One form of official, non-expired, U.S. Government Issue, signature bearing, photo identification; examples include a valid driver’s license, U.S. Military ID, state-issued ID card, US passport or Alien Registration card
  • Social Security card with current, legal name that matches your form of identification
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination: Employees will be required to show proof of Hepatitis B vaccination, receive the vaccine after hire, or sign a declination form. (You may have had this as part of childhood vaccination series).
  • Covid Vaccination: Givens Communities operates in compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Covid-19 vaccination recommendations. Covid vaccination is encouraged but not required.
