We are looking for a finance professional to join GitHub's Strategic Finance team, with a focus on go-to-market (GTM) finance. The successful candidate will work directly with senior business partners to define financial goals for new GTM initiatives, analyze the unit economics of new GTM motions, and track the performance of GTM initiatives over time. We're looking for a thought leader who is able to create and operationalize new metrics, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can lead others through projects end to end. This is a great opportunity to join a small team helping to scale a high growth SaaS business.
- Analyze the financial impact of GTM changes and decisions, and present findings to the CFO and key business stakeholders.
- Bring a financial perspective to GitHub's GTM efforts by defining unit economics and creating new metrics where they don't yet exist.
- Track and report on the progress of GTM initiatives and their financial impact.
- Partner with business leaders on new GTM initiatives as they arise. This role is project based.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Work Experience: 6+ years of relevant work experience, for example previous experience in Strategic Finance/FP&A at a software company, Investment Banking/Research, or Venture Capital/Private Equity.
- Technical Experience: Experience with sophisticated financial modeling and working with large data sets.
- Business Intuition: Solid understanding of how SaaS businesses scale.
- Communication Skills: Distill and simplify complex financial concepts for all audiences.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Proactive thinker energized to solve business challenges.
- Interpersonal Skills: Build trust and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Location: San Francisco, CA; or remote (US/Canada only).
