Systems Programming AppSec Engineer positions offered by GitHub, Inc. (San Francisco, CA). Responsible for performing security assessments of existing and newly developed applications and libraries. Fix identified vulnerabilities and develop new code and patterns to prevent them in future development. Identify and address security architecture concerns within existing and future applications and libraries. Automate the identification of security issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Requires a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the position offered or 2 years of experience performing software engineering or software research related in connection with security vulnerabilities. In lieu of a master’s degree and 2 years of experience, employer will accept a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in aforementioned fields and 5 years of experience as stated.
2 years of experience: developing in C and C++; identifying memory corruption and security vulnerabilities; working with Linux kernel internals; utilizing static analysis tools; developing frameworks for fuzzing; and working with Git version control software.
Employee reports to headquarters office in San Francisco office, but may telecommute from any location in the US.
