Giant Spoon has been partnering with American Express to move Departures Magazine beyond the printed page. We need a Project Manager who wants to roll up their sleeves and help us bridge the gap between product, brand, strategy, and design at every touchpoint. This Project Manager will primarily oversee internal processes related to client partnerships and our advertising clients within Departures Magazine, inclusive of integrated campaigns running across Departure's digital, social, newsletter and print channels. This person will manage the post-sale activation and execution of each campaign and will coordinate the campaign workflow with the Sales, Creative, Social, Newsletter, and Editorial teams. 

The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams and advertising clients to ensure the success of each campaign. This includes delivering timelines, briefing the creative team, optimizing and reporting results against client KPIs, and communicating with clients as needed. Their goal will be to successfully deliver advertising projects on time and exceed client performance and expectations. 

The Departures team is working remote-first on EST work hours. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide day-to-day internal management to plan, coordinate, and implement sold-in custom advertiser-driven campaigns across Departures’ ecosystem
  • Execute sold integrated advertiser programs ranging from standard media campaigns (digital and print), to custom co-branded content and video shoots
  • Support the advertising client partner’s transition from pre sale to post sale, establishing KPIs and other benchmarks for success and facilitating kick offs 
  • Build campaign timelines
  • Optimize to client KPIs throughout partnership
  • Work as a liaison and communicate between external and internal teams (i.e., Sales, Creative, Design, Newsletter, Editorial, Social, Legal, American Express) to produce campaign assets 
  • Coordinate internal communication for all assigned advertising programs and support on client communications as needed
  • Support Account Management on staff resourcing 
  • Facilitate smooth creative process, maintain campaign timelines, manage client feedback, traffic ads, and ensure approval prior to launch
  • Coordinate delivery of custom content elements in conjunction with display ad campaigns
  • Own anywhere from 5+ high-profile client partner projects at a time, communicating deadlines and updates to partner and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure that campaigns launch on time, deliver exactly what was sold, and exceed all given benchmarks by optimizing when necessary.
  • Summarize, analyze, and share results throughout campaigns both internally and with partners
  • Collaborate with our Departures' Sales team to develop client renewal strategy based on campaign performance and client goals
  • Maintain expert understanding of Departures’ ad products and capabilities
  • Provide detailed reporting and recommendations to all internal and external teams
  • Demonstrate active problem resolution in order to ensure a successful partnership

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years experience project managing ad sales or media for digital execution at a publishing house
  • Strong foundation in timeline management, including internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate across team functions–sales, account management, leadership, editorial, in-house creative studio team
  • Ability to project manage a cross-functional team, juggle multiple projects at one time, and execute against firm deadlines
  • Ability to advise client partners on a variety of customized ad solutions & capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills and eye for detail

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. Salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
