Position Overview
The Associate, Investment Accounting will join the Investment Accounting Team in a role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting and reporting related to statutory investment accounting. Coordination with counterparts within Investment Accounting, as well as in Investment Operations, Statutory Accounting and Reporting, Corporate Development, and other departments will be critical to success in this role. The position will report to the AVP of Investment Accounting and will review the work performed by two other team members.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Complete stat assignments including but not limited to investment NAIC Annual Statement schedules, footnotes, interrogatories for seven insurance company entities
- Train newer members of the team on assignable tasks related to investment accounting and reporting
- Perform control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
- Perform frequent ad hoc analysis and support new business initiatives as needed
- Review journal entries, Annual Statement reporting schedules
- Review high volumes of recurring data monthly, as well as a high volume of new information, some of it on complex investments
- Assist in planning and executing improvements to the quarterly reporting process
- Support audit completion in regulatory communications
- Ensure annual rating agency survey process is completed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related concentration.
- 4+ years relevant experience; insurance industry experience and accounting, reporting, and investments is preferred
- Public accounting experience is a plus, statutory accounting experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
- Organized, hard working, great communicators, and technically strong, with a background in accounting and reporting
- Powerpoint, Excel, Word skills required

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office.
Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.
