Position Overview

Global Atlantic is seeking a supervisor to join our operations organization within our Post Issue Center of Excellence (COE) team.  The Post Issue COE focuses on the oversight and administration of post issue operational activities associated with Global Atlantic’s life, annuity and preneed lines of business.  These activities may be provided within Global Atlantic or through Third Party Administrators (TPAs). 

Successful candidates will be experienced leaders in the annuity industry with expertise in Inforce and death claim administration as well as a proven track record of leading efficient teams. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to quickly assume responsibilities and a high level of analytical aptitude.  Functions include day to day management of inforce and claims processing, oversight of TPAs, support of both discretionary and production related projects, and reporting. Successful incumbent will partner closely with operational teams, product, compliance, sales, and key vendor partners. 

This position will be in our Des Moines, IA office and may require travel.  

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage a team of resources focused on the execution of post issue processing within the annuity lines of business.  This could include non-financial, financial, death claim or living benefit claim processing
  • Support the personal development of the team, while also properly allocating resources to complete required objectives
  • Lead and oversee the establishment of policies, procedures and strategies related to the efficient administration of life insurance, annuity, and preneed policies within our Global Atlantic processing teams as well as our various TPAs
  • Monitor service standards to adjust workflows and resources to meet performance standards
  • Analyze service workflows and automated technologies to recommend process/system improvements that maximize operating efficiencies
  • Assist in the handling of exceptions, escalations, and complicated technical or complaint cases while weighing company philosophy, compliance, business risks, tax, regulatory ramifications and administrative costs
  • Support special projects and system enhancements
  • Effectively face-off to and support internal clients and work collaboratively with peers
  • Contribute to internal budgeting and business planning processes

 Desired Attributes and Characteristics

  • Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader in an insurance or financial services environment
  • Experience with insurance administration and TPA infrastructure/management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and process improvement skill set
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize as necessary
  • Solid work ethic and a willingness to support the team as needed
  • Ambition and desire to succeed by delivering quality and effective results with minimal guidance

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience within insurance administration, financial services or related industry
  • 2-3 years of experience within a management or leadership role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operations and process improvement along with strong business acumen and the ability to translate business plans into actionable solutions
  • Knowledge of life insurance and annuity products
  • Experience with insurance administration systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
