Rested is the digital health startup for sleep. We're building a tech-driven solution to help people understand their sleep, assess risk for sleep disorders, and get easy access to treatment. Over 40 million Americans currently suffer from some form of sleep disorder, and most of them don't know it, or have great difficulty getting treatment. We want to change that.
Nearly 1 in 5 Americans is affected by sleep apnea but over 80% of them are undiagnosed. Sleep apnea negatively affects quality of life by inducing loud snoring, causing moderate to severe daytime fatigue, and worsening general mood and patience thresholds. Risk for sleep apnea increases with age and weight gain and if left untreated the disorder can have a compounding effect on other negative health conditions including hypertension, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
Sleep Coaches (think personal trainer or counselor but for sleep-related health) are an integral part of our team, responsible for educating their clients about the condition and its risks as well as guiding them down the diagnosis and treatment pathway.
What you’ll do
Guide groups of individuals who are trying to get healthier sleep and motivate at-risk clients to get diagnosed and treated for sleep apnea through coaching sessions over the phone, texting and online messaging
Relentlessly strive to understand client behavior, working closely with cross-functional teams to hack motivation
Juggle administrative duties associated with diagnosis and treatment including scheduling, patient paperwork and coordination with physicians and respiratory therapists
Impact product decisions by providing qualitative and quantitative insights from client interactions
Champion sleep wellness and ensure that your clients are happy and motivated to tackle their sleep apnea and improve their health
Who you are
You have a bachelor's degree
You have work experience in sales or general customer service
You understand what it takes to manage a good customer experience over the phone and via email
You are passionate about health and wellness
You believe in empowering people to improve their health
You are a natural at empathizing and working with people
You love understanding people, using both qualitative and quantitative means
You are super organized and an expert multi-tasker
You feel at home navigating digital platforms and tools
Background in psychology or Cognitive Behavioral Theory is a plus (so is experience working in a healthcare environment and familiarity with HIPAA)
