We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Marketplace Project Manager who will be primarily accountable for planning, executing, and closing projects for Geotab’s Marketplace. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

As a Project Manager you will develop and maintain a robust understanding of Marketplace objectives and processes in order to support consecutive Marketplace projects, often multiple simultaneously. You will define project scope, develop detailed work plans, and allocate resources efficiently to meet objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the project team, driving related Marketplace activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the project stays on schedule and within constraints. Effective communication with stakeholders and risk management are also critical aspects of this role to ensure project success.

How you'll make an impact

  • Project Planning: Develop a detailed project plan to establish accountabilities, track progress, identify issues, and escalate immediately.
  • Project Implementation and Progression: Manage all aspects of the implementation and progression of assigned projects, from original concept through project closure activities.
  • Scope and Risk Definition: Work with key stakeholders to establish project in-scope activities, out-of-scope activities, constraints, and risks prior to project launch.
  • Risk Management: Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Be the main point of contact for customer and senior management for the project; manage the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders.
  • Performance Measurement: Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Resource Management: Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
  • Resource and Knowledge Integration: Integrate resources and knowledge across projects and tasks.
  • Change Management: Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • On-Time Delivery: Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Reporting and Escalation: Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain an up-to-date project document repository.
  • Best Practices and Standards: Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships.
  • Subject-Matter Expertise: Maintain a high level of subject-matter expertise related to Marketplace-specific nuances.
  • Conduct Regular Team Meetings: Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment, address issues, and foster collaboration.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that the deliverables meet the required quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement in project management practices.

What you'll bring to this role

  • 3-5 years in project management.
  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion. Strong experience establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of or ability to quickly understand the technical aspects relevant to the industry and Marketplace projects. Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides) JIRA and Salesforce
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and resource control.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interaction with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges and obstacles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and guide project teams towards achieving project goals.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and standards to ensure project deliverables meet required specifications. High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Expertise in managing changes in project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Proficiency in maintaining comprehensive project documentation and repositories.
  • Strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with industry best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Business or a related field.
  • Professional Project Management (PMP) certification is required.
