Geotab is seeking an IT Applications Specialist who will be responsible for the designing, configuration, implementation and maintenance of Geotab’s enterprise IT application systems. What you'll do:
As an IT Applications Specialist your key area of responsibility will be to design, configure, implement and maintain applications and service requirements while establishing best practices. You will be responsible for investigating and troubleshooting application issues of a complex nature, identifying bugs and opportunities for improvement in existing applications, and clearly communicating these to the appropriate teams. You will need to work closely with internal and external resources to coordinate additional and escalated support.

How you'll make an impact
- Design, configure, implement and maintain applications and service requirements while establishing best practices
- Lead and/or participate in projects as a technical subject matter expert
- Plan, coordinate and test upgrades for enterprise applications, recommending changes for improvement as needed while systems operate correctly in current and future environments
- Work with business owners in order to understand business needs and manage expectations of users we are supporting
- Perform daily health checks to detect issues and minimize downtime
- Conduct performance tuning and identify ways to maximize the potential and ensure high availability of applications
- Identify and resolve medium to highly complex production problems for supported applications (Google Workspace, RingCentral, PagerDuty, etc.)
- Provide roadmap recommendations to management regarding technology directions, decisions, security policy, and roadmap
- Create and maintain SOP’s for application portfolio including other technical documentation to be used by internal Geotab technical and non-technical teams
- Write and maintain automation scripts and leverage configuration management to increase system efficiency and effectiveness
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule
What you'll bring to the role
- 2 - 5 years of experience in technical, functional & system support of IT applications and cloud platforms
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Professional certification in IT (e.g. Google ACE, Google Professional Collaboration Engineer, Linux +, AWS) highly valued
- Knowledge of ChromeOS, Windows, Mac and Linux OS installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience with cloud computing platforms including Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of SSO methodologies (SAML & LDAPS)
- Strong programming/scripting knowledge - Powershell, Python, Bash, etc.
- Experience with applications such as Google Workspace, Gitlab, ManageEngine, RingCentral, Azure AD etc.
- Experience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution’s (e.g. VMware Workspace One)
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization
