Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior RFP Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the development of processes, proposals, bids, quotations or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective customers including government proposals. What you'll do:

As a Senior RFP Manager you will collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, finance, legal and product teams in order to ensure content is accurate, complete and timely. Additionally, you may recommend enhancements to Geotab products or services based on inquiries from prospective customers. The projects being handled by the Senior RFP Manager are complex, and usually tied to the most strategic partners/customers, with the largest revenue opportunities.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead and deliver competitive, high-quality proposals to Geotab prospects and customers (bid analysis, engaging SMEs, content development, proposal reviews and editing, preparing the response document(s), project managing the response and team members involved, etc.)
  • Manage and deliver on “must win” opportunities for the organization.
  • Content drafting and document formatting are vital to this role as the Lead Author of the proposal response (intake content from SMEs and tailor it for the opportunity).
  • Experienced in developing proposals for customers - public sector and commercial - including government proposals.
  • Consult, co-ordinate and project manage Geotab resources, and on occasion external resources, to effectively respond to assist with large scale partner opportunities.
  • Participate in the RFP life cycle: kick-off meetings, the analysis of requirements and strategy development, risk assessment/mitigation, and the creation of high-quality proposals showcasing Geotab’s value proposition – for both direct and indirect business.
  • Ensure RFP requirements are reviewed and approved appropriately, and that deadlines are communicated to applicable parties and met.
  • Ensure approvals procedures and processes are followed.
  • Interact with Geotab sales, partners, and technical teams to ensure accuracy in business and technical responses.
  • Assist with hiring and training new team members and contribute to mentoring new employees.
  • Oversee team day-to-day operations - triaging and assigning new RFPs to the team members with the appropriate level of knowledge and experience; monitoring progress of RFP responses; and ensuring internal and external deadlines are being met.
  • Provide training and support to employees on subject expertise.
  • Drive efficiency in the RFP process, tools, and team by identifying areas of improvement, developing solutions with industry best practices in mind, and executing.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support on RFPs for other team members, be an “RFP SME” to the organization.
  • Lead strategic projects for the team, ensuring completion of tasks in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to mentoring of new employees; May supervise interns. 
  • Provide training and support to employees on subject expertise.
  • Maintain RFP response database.
  • Transform business and technical product information into concise, easy to understand written material.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 8+ years of experience as an RFP Manager or writing, editing, and coordinating responses to RFPs/RFIs.
  • Experience directly supporting a sales organization, experience in managing a library of information that can be accessed and used easily.
  • Understanding and has successfully used of Shipley’s Proposal Management methodology or APMP Best Practices on Proposal Management.
  • Possesses a strong competency in executing quality work promptly, coupled with meticulous attention to finer details. 
  • Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills and a capacity for collaborative teamwork, with proven leadership to guide, inspire, and support a team of professionals.
  • Ability to lead meetings, and presentations.
  • Ability to lead overly complex projects and RFX requests.
  • Able to make recommendations based on experience.
  • Understanding of industry best practices in Proposal Management.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal clients.
  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent team player with ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for sales/marketing needs in a technical environment.
  • Experience leveraging CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce) required.
  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve and make well-judged decisions. 
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
