About GenScript ProBio

GenScript ProBio is the subsidiary of GenScript Biotech Corporation, proactively providing end-to-end CDMO service from drug discovery to commercialization with proactive strategies, professional solutions and efficient processes in cell and gene therapy (CGT), vaccine, biologics discovery and antibody protein drug to accelerate drug development for customers. GenScript ProBio’s total cell and gene therapy solution covers CMC of plasmid and virus for IND filing as well as clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing. In terms of plasmid service, GenScript ProBio supports the most clinical approvals for CGT drugs including mRNA vaccines, CAR-T in China. It is also the first GMP manufacturing platform to provide in vitro transcription (IVT) template linearized plasmids for mRNA vaccines and has supported several mRNA vaccine global enterprises to obtain clinical approvals. Job Scope:

The position reports to the Director of Facility Services, is ideally suited for an individual  experienced in the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of facility MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration), and BAS (Building Automation System) systems.  Any specific experience in maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment (centrifuges, freezers, incubators, cold rooms, thermal cyclers, etc.) is a plus. Specific knowledge and experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance / Systems Engineering is also a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on skills with laboratory and field analysis, calibration, testing, adjustments, and use of electronic instrumentation.
  • Perform routine NDE and Troubleshooting of building electrical distribution and piping systems.
  • Monitor performance trends of building systems and basic laboratory equipment (cold rooms, freezers, centrifuges, etc.)
  • Review Specifications, and Submittals for general constructability, completeness, safety, maintainability, accessibility, operability, and conformance with the applicable code, regulations, and design intent.
  • Participate in cross-check-audit of design basis, design calculations, and materials of construction.
  • Assist in Monitoring construction work in the field, including conformance to safety, schedule, design, specifications, code, and quality requirements, working in conjunction with project management, engineers, commissioning agents, vendors, and construction professionals and contractors.
  • Troubleshooting, determining root cause of problems and providing optimization strategies for utility systems and equipment.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned utilities/systems/equipment.
  • After hours work, occasional travel, and other duties may be required as necessary to support the facility and business operations.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required education:  Vocational, Associate Degree, or Bachelors degree or certification in Mechanical or Chemical or Electrical Engineering or in associated trades
  • Ability to perform instrument calibration checks and calibration adjustments.
  • Ability to perform preliminary equipment tolerance analysis and optimization studies
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with process and/or plant utility systems, preferably in a regulated environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Boiler Operator, HVAC/R, and/or Electrical License is a plus.
