We started Geneva to help people stay connected to the groups they love and help them make new friends through the groups they have yet to find. We know that being a part of groups is vital to our happiness and well-being, but the tools and platforms most of us use today aren’t designed to help us build and participate in the groups that matter to us. That's why we’re building Geneva — a new communication app that gives groups, clubs, and communities everything they need to come together online, all in one place.

Product Challenges

We want to empower groups from around the world ranging from a 5-person group chat to a 10,000-person climate change community to communicate in a robust, private, safe, secure, and efficient manner. This is no easy task.

On the infrastructure side, we're building a modern communication platform to facilitate large scale real-time group conversations across the globe. Our real-time delivery platform is designed with a distributed fault-tolerant architecture. We strive for insanely fast communication at scale with the lowest infrastructure costs imaginable.

On the UI side, we're building an intuitive and beautiful user experience for everyone. Period. Not just gamers, or tech startups, or people nostalgic for decades old interfaces. To achieve this goal, we need every product and engineering team member to be motivated first and foremost by profound love and empathy for our users.

💙 Health and retirement benefits. We offer fully paid options for health, vision, and dental insurance for full-time US-based team members, along with access to 401k, FSAs, supplemental life insurance, and more. International team members have access to medical stipend options to assist with the costs of staying healthy. Unlimited sick time, including support for mental health days, is available to everyone on the team.

🌴 Paid time off. We offer unlimited PTO, with a recommended minimum of 15 days off per year (in addition to holidays and separate from sick time).

🍼 Generous family leave. We encourage 12 weeks of parental leave for all new parents, and will be flexible with you if you want to take it all at once or staggered throughout your first year with your new addition.

🌎 Remote work. You can do your best work with Geneva, no matter where you live. We've been remote-first since inception, and have team members located across the globe. We're always on the lookout for things that set you up for success and help keep you connected to the team, no matter which time zone you're in.

☕ Coworking. We recognize everybody's productivity needs are different. NYC-based team members are more than welcome to work from our beautiful Soho office any time working from home isn't ideal. For team members located elsewhere, we'll cover the cost of a coworking space if you prefer working away from home.

💻 Equipment. We'll make sure you have everything you need to do your job, including the computer of your choice and furniture to optimize your home office. 

📚 Learning and development. Staying up to speed and keeping your skills sharp is an ongoing pursuit. We offer an annual budget for books, courses, subscriptions, and other resources to support your growth.

🧘‍♂️ Wellness support. We contribute a monthly budget to help you maintain a well-rounded lifestyle, ranging from gym and fitness studio memberships, mental health or personal counseling/therapy, meditation apps or other wellness subscriptions, and more. 

🌼 Team retreats. Working remotely makes our time spent together in person so much more meaningful. The whole team gathers together IRL twice a year, where we collaborate, align on strategy, and have fun together, all expenses paid.
