The Finance Associate will manage accounts receivable and assist in the day-to-day management of grants and contracts, including federal awards. The Finance Associate will also perform financial analyses and serve as the primary point of contact for accounts receivable. The Finance Associate reports to the US Controller and manages the following functions:

  1. Prepare invoices, including cost-reimbursable invoices for partner submission
  2. Manage accounts receivable by:
    • Developing revenue projection schedule of philanthropic, partner, and employer funding
    • Developing and implementing the process to monitor employer payments
    • Liaising with the Development and Launch Teams to collect payments
    • Updating Salesforce with receivables
    • Serving as point-of-contact for all vendor registrations and accounts receivable inquiries
    • Maintaining all philanthropic, partner, and employer files (grant agreements, contracts, MOUs, etc.)
  1. Maintain Finance documentation, including GenInfo resources and SharePoint file organization
  2. Assist with preparation and execution of annual audit, with a focus on receivable schedules and analysis
  3. Support the US Controller to develop grant and contract budgets
  4. Collaborate with the US Controller to develop and monitor accounts receivable policies and procedures
  5. Track restricted funding
  6. Support Payroll & Payables Manager with data entry and validation

Specific requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a nonprofit with a mix of funding sources
  • Thorough understanding of nonprofit accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Affinity for and ability to analyze numbers
  • Adept at presenting complex financial information in a clear manner to various audiences including senior management, staff members and others
  • Familiarity with Intacct and Salesforce preferred
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGS) preferred
  • Professional demeanor, excellent organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude, drive for excellence, and ability to be a team player
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, embracing the opportunity for creativity and hard work inherent in a start-up
