You will be part of Generation, the world’s largest, fastest scaling global employment program, providing young and mid-career adults with the opportunity to launch successful careers and change their life trajectories. ABOUT REGENERATION

Generation launched ReGeneration in January 2019. This program will reach, serve, train and place workers 40 years of age and older using our methodology and the best practices of our partner organizations. The program partners with AARP Foundation and Jefferson State Community College, supported by the Workforce Boards and State Workforce Agencies in Duval County, FL and Jefferson County, AL, to reskill and place 400 mature, dislocated workers in Birmingham, Alabama and Jacksonville, Florida in sustainable jobs in healthcare and information technology, respectively. All of Generation’s programs are structured as intensive boot camps ranging from 3 – 12 weeks. The programs offer participants integrated technical, behavioral, mindset, and employment skills training, mentorship support and community services as well as job-placement support when they graduate.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Partnership Manager is a full-time role that will lead the launch of a ReGeneration Healthcare program in Birmingham, AL and then have the opportunity to serve as the primary representative of ReGeneration on-the-ground once the program is active. This position reports to the ReGeneration Program Lead. The primary functions of this role will be to support the AARP Foundation, Jefferson State Community College, and other non-profit partners delivering the program, deepen employer partnerships, and ensure that the program meets ReGeneration target metrics on recruitment, graduation placement, and job retention.

In January 2019, ReGeneration launched a planning phase in Birmingham to identify the target partners and professional program to support the region’s opportunity youth in building thriving careers in middle-skill professions in Healthcare. In May 2019, we launch a pilot phase to train 200 adults (age 40+) in eight cohorts over 24 months. Based on the success of our graduates and employer demand, we will continue to scale the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive partnerships and activities during planning phase by:
    • Identifying and cultivating potential partners, researching the workforce landscape, and determining optimal path for a new Generation program in the region
    • Collaborating closely with the ReGeneration team already in Birmingham
    • Leading outreach to new potential partners on behalf of ReGeneration
    • Maintaining regular contact with potential partners and providing frequent updates on planning phase status
    • Managing relationships with other key stakeholders in the region (e.g., Mayor’s Office)
    • Coordinating partner relations events to raise awareness and interest in ReGeneration
    • Researching workforce landscape, job vacancy data, and projected growth in talent demand
    • Acting as liaison to Generation US National team, contributing insights and experiences as we continue improving the Generation model nationally and codifying best practices
    • Collaborating with Generation US National team to evaluate opportunities for professional program based on partners identified and the greatest opportunity for impact.
  • Once partner is selected, drive partnership relationship by:
    • Maintaining regular contact with partner to provide frequent updates on program status and outcomes, address any challenges, and ensure success of the program
    • Developing deep relationships with key partner stakeholders by providing high-touch service
    • Coordinating program events in collaboration with partner to recruit students and engage alumni
    • Collaborating with partner to establish and execute against timeline for training and employment of ReGeneration participants, including application submission and auditions
    • Acting as liaison to Generation US National team, contributing insights, recommendations and experiences as we continue improving the Generation model nationally and codifying best practices for employer partnerships
  • Effectively deliver program outcomes by:
    • Leading recruitment of program students in coordination with Generation US National team (e.g., marketing, digital)
    • Supporting the selected partner Instructors in delivering technical content designed by Generation
    • Overseeing and coaching ReGeneration program Career Coach and Case Manager in delivering ‘soft skills’ curriculum content and providing students guidance and support
    • Managing program logistics (e.g., scheduling needs, resources) as well as ReGeneration program staff in Birmingham
    • Building network of community organizations to identify wrap-around support services for students to overcome barriers to successful program completion and employment
    • Evaluating program against agreed upon objectives and metrics guided by Generation US National team at frequent and regular intervals
  • Maintain ROI data collection and activities by:
    • Ensuring complete and accurate reporting
    • Utilizing a file system with participant information and program records; ensuring team (instructors and mentor) keep this information up to date on the Generation Data Tool
    • Conducting analysis to demonstrate ROI including managing logistics and collect ROI data

DESIRED RESULTS

  • 75 confirmed in 2019, and 130+ program participants in 2020
  • Confirmed commitment of employer partners to interview no fewer than 100 ReGeneration program graduates for hire for a specific role during subsequent pilot phase
  • Cultivation of ReGeneration network that includes non-profit organizations engaged in workforce, opportunity youth, and wrap-around services to enable ease of recruitment and student support once program launches
  • 80% job retention with employer for at least 180 days
  • 80% program graduation rate across programs
  • 100% of graduates pass the certification aligned with the program
  • 85% of graduates employed within 30 days of graduation

Specific requirements include, but not limited to:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable partnership management experience in fast-paced, high-growth, client-facing position
  • Professional demeanor with exceptional ability to establish credibility with executives

  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Managed client accounts within a nonprofit preferred
