About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Anaplan Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in driving our connected planning initiatives. As the architectural cornerstone of our Anaplan implementation, you will design, develop, and optimize sophisticated multi-dimensional models that transform our financial planning and analysis capabilities. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and financial acumen. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to translate complex business requirements into elegant Anaplan solutions, while also establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and championing the adoption of Anaplan throughout the company. What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Anaplan Solution Architect:

  • Leverage your expertise to translate existing solutions, spreadsheets, and complex business problems into sophisticated Anaplan multi-dimensional models, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business objectives. 
  • Serve as the primary architectural subject matter expert (SME) for large-scale connected planning solutions, providing guidance and technical leadership throughout the organization. 
  • Demonstrate radical ownership over each step of the development process, including: 
    • Conducting thorough, customer-centric needs assessments to fully understand business requirements 
    • Clearly defining problems and articulating comprehensive product requirements 
    • Effectively managing application development teams and model builders to ensure high-quality deliverables 
    • Overseeing the successful deployment of applications and providing robust production support 
  • Spearhead the adoption of Anaplan across Generate Capital by building cultural awareness around the platform's capabilities and proactively working across various business units to identify and define value-additive applications for Anaplan 
  • Play a key role in supporting the establishment of an Anaplan Center of Excellence (COE) within the firm, leveraging your past experiences and industry best practices to set the COE up for long-term success and maximize the value of Anaplan across the organization. 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Anaplan models, processes, and best practices, creating a knowledge base that supports ongoing operations and facilitates knowledge transfer. 
  • Stay at the forefront of Anaplan's evolving capabilities by continuously updating your knowledge of new features and updates. Evaluate their potential impact and benefits to the organization and recommend strategic implementations. 

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
  • Anaplan Solution Architect certification (Level 3) or higher; Certified Master Anaplanner (Level 4) preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience developing Anaplan applications, with at least 3 years focused on investment firms or investment-focused organizations 
  • 3+ years of experience managing Anaplan model builders / developers 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with end business stakeholders, develop a clear understanding of customer needs, and translate user requirements into Anaplan-specific product specifications 
  • Proven track record of building and deploying Anaplan applications that have direct, tangible impact on connected planning efforts 
  • Strong systems-oriented thinking and familiarity with relational databases; understanding of data integration principles and practices 
  • Proven ability to lead and execute multiple responsibilities simultaneously 
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and planning concepts 
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) 
  • Must be based in San Francisco, CA or  New York, NY and able to commute to the office 3 times per week 
  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Not Required:

  • 4-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or related field 
  • Experience with complementary planning and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx) 
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices 
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members 
  • Active participation in Anaplan community events or contributions to Anaplan forums 
  • Experience with change management in technology adoption 

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
