GelSight seeks a Production Technician with experience in small scale manufacturing and interest in learning new processes and techniques which require a high level of skill and attention to detail. The primary focus will be to perform tasks associated with gel production.  The ideal candidate is quality-driven, attentive, and eager to learn and master processes and materials.  Critical to the role are the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, strong communication, teamwork, a continuous improvement mindset, and delivering results daily.  This position requires on-site presence working in a laboratory/production setting which involves regular handling of various chemicals.  Typically, a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, is required though occasional overtime may be necessary to support surges in demand.

Responsibilities:

The Production Technician will perform tasks to assist team members in production and lab work.  As experience in the roles grows and under appropriate supervision, responsibilities will include:

  • Completing manufacturing processes to ensure timely completion of gel production
  • Preparing materials/chemicals, areas, tooling, and equipment for production and engineering needs
  • Maintaining inventory levels of various consumables products
  • Storing, retrieving, weighing, mixing, and coating chemicals
  • Recording and entering information into a database
  • Assembling/disassembling, cleaning, and maintaining equipment
  • Performing Quality Control inspection, testing, release, quarantine, documentation, etc.
  • Preparing, labeling, and packaging gel products
  • Creating/drafting documented work instructions and training of less experienced team members
  • Assisting with team leaders to troubleshoot production process & equipment issues
  • Regular cleaning and organization of production and lab areas
  • Assisting other team members as required

Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
  • Prior small scale manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with work that requires excellent hand dexterity
  • Experience with work requiring a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including data entry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Unwavering compliance with safety & quality regulations, including protective gear as required
