The Strategic Investments Group manages over $5bn in AUM.

 

The Associate will be involved in all aspects of the investment process across hedge fund and private equity style investing, including idea sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution and investment monitoring.  Strong performers that are a good fit with the group will have the opportunity to stay on in a career track position.

 

As an onsite/hybrid employee, you are expected to be in the office in coordination with your manager.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and conduct due diligence on investment opportunities across the public and private markets.
  • Analyze public company materials, private information memorandums and industry reports for potential investment opportunities.
  • Build detailed financial models to perform valuation analyses.
  • Coordinate with external advisors to perform due diligence.
  • Leverage broad network of GCM Grosvenor alternative asset managers to synthesize industry and company insights to inform due diligence process.
  • Coordinate with internal and external counsel to review deal terms, as well as negotiate and execute investment transactions.
  • Prepare investment memoranda; present recommendations and due diligence findings to internal committees and clients.
  • Actively monitor investments to assist in ongoing portfolio management.
  • Provide client management support and related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in investment banking is required. Candidates with an additional 1-2 years of experience at a hedge fund or private equity firm will also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field with a strong record of academic success is required.
  • Exceptional quantitative, financial modeling and valuation skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Superior organization, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a deal teams, often on several transactions or potential opportunities simultaneously, under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and work both independently and as a productive member of project teams.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization.
  • High degree of integrity.
  • Dedicated work ethic and commitment to team and a goal-oriented environment.
