SUMMARY

We are seeking an Analyst focused on primary fund research within our Credit Research Team. This person will join a group of ten other investment professionals focused on credit fund research and a broader Credit team of approximately eighteen investment professionals. The Research team works closely with other investment and operational professionals throughout GCM Grosvenor.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES           

  • Perform thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis of existing and potential investments in credit fund managers. Coverage responsibilities will include both liquid (i.e., hedge fund) and illiquid (i.e., private debt) strategies, split across a broad range of sub strategies.
  • Prepare internal and external market and investment commentary monthly.
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) with credit managers and report back manager and strategy-related issues to the Credit team.
  • Regularly attend meetings with credit managers and participate in industry conferences; summarize and communicate the meetings’ and conference subject matter within the investments group.
  • Update peer data sets and undertake other data analysis on existing and potential investments.
  • Participate in the due diligence of potential new investments with credit managers and make written recommendations to the research group and investment committee.
  • Track, analyze, and interpret trends in credit funds and the related capital markets.
  • Perform special projects related to the strategy or credit industry.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a finance or investment management position.
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of the investment industry, particularly the alternative investment industry. 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. The ability to articulate thoughts in a clear and concise manner to both clients and staff through written correspondence and presentations.
  • Highly proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent work ethic, high degree of professionalism and integrity, and commitment to team in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Superior organization, decision making and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated initiative and ability to manage tasks and projects independently from start to finish.
  • Strong attention to detail and concern for quality and accuracy of final product.
