About the role

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and inventory to support Gatik’s operations. This role focuses on managing procurement, inventory control, and material handling to support build schedules, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Working onsite at our Fort Worth, TX office, you will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maintain accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in all aspects of purchasing and inventory management.

This role will work onsite five days at our Fort Worth, TX office.

What you'll do

Procurement and Purchasing

  • Manage purchasing activities for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
  • Review and verify requisitions for completeness and accuracy, securing necessary approvals.
  • Process purchase orders, negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Address shortages proactively to support manufacturing timelines.
  • Ensure data integrity in ERP systems (NetSuite) by maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records.

Receiving and Material Processing

  • Reconcile material receipts with purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies in invoicing or documentation.
  • Notify requestors of material arrivals and manage proper labeling with internal part numbers.
  • Support fixed asset management by tagging and documenting inventory assets.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory room setup, organization, and maintenance to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Track material movement in and out of inventory to meet operational requirements.
  • Prepare and kit materials for upcoming builds to facilitate efficient production.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly inventory audits in collaboration with the Finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Returns and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)

  • Track and manage the return process, ensuring timely resolution through refunds or replacements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional initiatives by performing duties as assigned to address evolving business needs.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite (mandatory).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in small-to-mid-stage company environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of the automotive or manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
