About the role:
The requirements and test engineer we are looking for is an expert in the field of embedded ECU testing and documentation with the drive to collaborate on new software functionality from the early prototype stage on up to series deployment in commercial vehicles. You will work with the controls and hardware teams on the development of new Drive-by-wire controls functionality and work on the functional safety of the software by creating and maintaining the requirements on various levels of the validation cycle. This will include both functional as well as test and performance requirements that are to be executed on x-iL level as well as in vehicle tests.
This role is onsite 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!
What you'll do:
- Create and maintain functional requirements for controls software on Systems up to Detailed-Design level
- Interact with prototyping teams to match and improve requirements with newly developed control algorithms
- Define performance requirements to ensure a stable and consistent functionality of the controls software and vehicle platform
- Build up and maintain automated toolchains for x-iL-testing
- Create tracking capabilities for test and software maturity
- Integrate requirements work for the reliable planning of software release cycles
What we're looking for:
- Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or similar with focus on embedded systems and/or automotive electronics
- 5+ years of experience in software development for embedded automotive systems, ideally in the field of ADAS/AD or vehicle chassis controls
- Experience with standards and practices such as ISO26262, MISRA-C and AUTOSAR
- Proficiency with requirements tools such as Jama, Polarion, DOORS
- Experience with xIL testing for automotive embedded systems. Experience with CAN, LIN analysis, and debugging tools (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANape, etc.)
