About the role:

Gatik is looking for a Senior Creative Designer to join the Marketing and Communications Team. This person is a creative thinker, visual communicator, and can solve business problems with creative solutions. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative and has significant experience in working closely with a team of marketing, design and multimedia experts to create global and localized digital content. They must have experience in editorial design (including illustration, print, videography, photography, motion graphics and animation), have empathy and understanding of the user experience, and be able to iterate varied concepts within a well-established design and branding aesthetic.
 
This role is onsite 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!
 

What you'll do:

  • Researching, preparing and presenting creative concepts to both the Marketing and Communications Team and Executive Team. 
  • Developing illustrations, motion graphics, and multimedia creative designs, iterating mockups and executing deliverables based on creative briefs approved by the Marketing and Communications Team, as well as other internal business units and external partners. 
  • Reviewing final deliverables with an exacting eye, ensuring that layout, images, and typography meet exceptional standards.  
  • Continually evolving the company brand, which is dynamic and constantly testing the boundaries of our creative potential.  
  • Deliverables include implementation of existing branding and art direction, developing original conceptual artwork, layout mockups, and production of new visual assets.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline, such as Graphic Design, User Experience, or Visual Communication. 
  • 3-5 years experience as a Brand Visual Designer, ideally at a tech company, B2B company, marketing agency, or related experience.
  • 2+ years of editorial experience in print or digital, and a solid understanding of the hand-off process of digital files to a print vendor.
  • Proficiency in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity.
  • The ability to create custom illustrative pieces that tell Gatik’s unique story. 
  • Excellent digital file structure and asset management skills. 
  • A user-empathy approach to design and ability to communicate clearly (both verbally and written).
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, powerful design solutions.
  • Passionate about design and art, both in and outside of work.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure without losing focus on details.
  • Self-starter who is able to handle multiple projects and deliver quality design, at high volume, in demanding timeframes.
  • Expert knowledge of Cinema 4D, Figma, Framer and other 3D software, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier, and Substance 3D being the primary skills required, but additional skills in reformatting media codecs are also considered very important), and Google Suite. 
  • Experience with motion design, CSS, and HTML5 is a plus.
  • Proficient on the latest macOS and iOS platforms.
