About the role:
Gatik is building a world class procurement and supply chain team. This position is responsible for building and leading engagements with key suppliers and partnering with them to deliver to Gatik’s requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process for the vehicle platform including our sensor stack (radar, cameras and LIDAR), in-vehicle computing platform as well as other vehicle components. You will develop and execute strategic plans, manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory levels, manage costs and risks, and continuously improve the supply chain.
This role is onsite 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!
What you'll do:
- Support the engineering product roadmap, especially hardware engineering. Identify sourcing alternatives to drive efficiencies and accelerate product development.
- Establish and manage supplier relationships including vetting, RFP development, selection, vendor negotiations and ensuring suppliers meet development and production timelines.
- Review and analyze quotes, proposals, RFPs to find the best options for Gatik. Work with the selected suppliers to optimize costs, delivery and terms.
- Review, analyze, and finalize quote packages from suppliers.
- Ensuring all commercial terms are agreed to internally, with the vendor and documented.
- Monitor supplier performance and work with suppliers to resolve any open issues. Continue to drive suppliers to deliver world class components, materials, products and services.
- Manage available inventory - and logistics pipeline - of products and material to support Gatik production schedules.
- Develop in-depth knowledge to understand trends, drive supply base to improve quality, lead-times and lower cost.
- Lead the day-to-day process of ensuring successful partnerships (milestone adherence, change order management, quality assurance, cost control, etc.) and build supplier performance assessments to support ongoing sourcing decisions.
- Develop quality inspection processes with suppliers. Work with suppliers to resolve all issues and drive high quality standards without compromising.
- Partner with finance and accounting to build budgets, financial planning and accounts payable accuracy.
- Advise commercial team of costs associated with bill of materials for to inform pricing discussions with customers.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain or related field.
- 5 - 7 years relevant industry experience with a very strong preference for automotive manufacturing experience or purchasing components used in automotive.
- Understanding of automotive compliance and standards.
- Specific experience in commodity management, procurement, RFP, negotiations, and vendor management.
- Experience reading technical specifications including drawings, data sheets and BOMs.
- Direct experience with establishing procedures and application support for ERP, PLM and QMS systems (Netsuite ERP preferred)
- Experience in rapidly scaling businesses including ability to thrive amidst with ambiguity, minimal supervision and capacity to multitask and prioritize work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
