Exemplars in Global Health (“EGH”) aims to adapt successful global health solutions to new contexts by conducting research and analysis to improve funding and policy decisions, both internally and externally. Our goals are to produce high quality research to drive improvements in how policymakers and funders deal with the most pressing global health challenges.  

 

THE POSITION 

The successful candidate will be excited to contribute to the end-to-end success of innovative global health research into the drivers of the most dramatic improvements in maternal & child health around the world. The candidate will specifically be embedded in the team focused on vaccine delivery, maternal and newborn health as well as under-5 mortality. The role will also involve content curation, coordinating engagements with top global researchers, key implementing partners at regional and global levels and national policy makers to answer fundamental questions on child health challenges.

The candidate will work to, (1) own effective strategies for driving awareness, uptake, and impact of child health research outputs, (2) frequently plan for and manage team dialogue with researchers, implementing partners and funders, (3) support the process of translating the research output into policy impact, shaping our approach to engaging external stakeholders and (4) drive continuous quality improvement of engagement and partnership models on the child health team.

  • Able to work with diverse stakeholders: You are able to understand the working styles, needs of a wide variety of stakeholders, and adapt effectively (e.g., academics, executives, creative designers).   
  • Data-driven and analytical: You believe that anything worth doing is worth measuring, and love using evidence to drive insights. You are driven by intellectual curiosity.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Partnerships & Impact strategy and execution (30%): Key activities include stakeholder landscaping and prioritization, setting engagement goals identifying priority events for participation. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of engagement models and partnership models, proactively refine them, and codify best practices for both topic specific and cross-topic learning.
  • Research synthesis and development of materials (25%): Engage with research partners, conduct synthesis of findings and generate materials tailored for different target end user audiences.
  • Project management (25%): Develop and oversee workback plans for the team's engagements, and events. Key activities include managing communications, defining meeting goals, material development for engagement, synthesizing key takeaways, and leading both external communications and internal leadership updates.
  • Special projects and initiatives (20%): Support leadership in new, high-priority efforts as opportunities arise for program. Own personal learning agenda related to topic areas and broader global health dialogue.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Strong communications, including strong writing, presentations, and ability to efficiently synthesize materials 
  • Strong experience organizing and driving complex projects 
  • Strong program management and organizational skills, including analytical capability
  • 3-4+ years in an analytically and programmatically rigorous environment - data and analytics or health research, management consulting experience is preferred
  • Experience working with at least one major global institution involved in maternal and child health such as Gavi, World Health Organization (WHO), and others

Compensation & Benefits 

The salary range for this position is $112,000 - $118,000 per year. Starting salary offers will vary depending on a number of factors, including education, experience, and qualifications. This role also qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus.
