Who You Are:
Galaxy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Automation Team (CAT) Lead to join our team. This individual will lead our Cloud Automation Team, which plays a crucial role in supporting our cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams. The Cloud Automation Team Lead will be responsible for both delivering automation solutions and coordinating team efforts, ensuring that our operations are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
What You’ll Do:
- Leadership and Team Coordination:
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a small team of automation engineers.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the automation team, using Agile approaches to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Hands-On Solution Delivery:
- Actively design, develop, and implement automation solutions to support cloud infrastructure, DevOps processes, and application deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.
- Automation Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop and implement automation strategies for cloud infrastructure, DevOps processes, and application deployment.
- Design and build scalable automation solutions using industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies, including Terraform, Ansible, Flux, and Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Ensure infrastructure is provisioned, configured, and managed in a consistent and repeatable manner.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development:
- Design, implement, and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Integrate automation tools with CI/CD pipelines to streamline application development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Utilize tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, and junit to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and Optimization:
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of automated processes.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud services, or DevOps roles, specifically in automation.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within an automation team.
- Strong expertise in automation tools and technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Flux, Kubernetes, EKS, Selenium, junit, Python, Bash, Go, Jenkins, and Puppet.
- Expertise in AWS services including Lambda, RDS, and EC2.
- Experience in test frameworks for at least one language, such as pytest.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure is desirable.
- In-depth understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices.
- Experience in front-end work including dashboards and internal tooling/UIs is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bonus Points:
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
