Position Summary:

Global Atlantic is seeking a candidate to manage the accounting and reporting for our loan and fund investments. This individual will:

  • be part of the Investment Controller team within Investment Accounting and be responsible for investment disclosures, reconciliations, and management of quarterly accounting processes for loans and funds.
  • partner with the Investment Office to support the execution and ongoing analysis of our loan and fund portfolio and ensure proper consolidations and intercompany eliminations related to these investments.
  • be required to bridge the accounting guidance to ensure that the operational set up and the accounting producing the financial statements adheres to GAAP.

Ability to process and analyze a high level of data from various sources is a must. Collaborating with multiple functions and departments is a critical component of this role requiring excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and critical thinking.  The role will offer exposure to multiple levels of management and GA functions, including Finance / Controllers, IT and Investment Office.  All candidates must, in addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of Global Atlantic’s GAAP 10Q/K investment disclosures for investments in loans and funds, reconciliation to the corporate ledger and management reporting.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining centralized documentation for loan modifications, TDRs and foreclosures through coordination with Investment Office and third party servicers
  • Responsible for quarterly CECL / impairment process for loans and funds, including obtaining results from Investment Office, accounting and reporting, ensuring completeness and adherence to US GAAP.
  • Review month end closing procedures, including analytical reviews of income statement and balance sheet to support the accuracy of our financial statements.
  • Proactively manage developments in GAAP accounting for these asset classes in collaboration with the accounting policy team.
  • Lead and develop the process for any new investments in these asset classes to integrate these into the reporting process ensuring the appropriate accounting and reporting.
  • Responsible for enhancing and performing timely investment analytics to provide senior management results of investment performance at the right level of detail for the audience
  • Collaborate with external auditors to resolve audit inquiries and fulfill audit requests on a timely manner.
  • Perform control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
  • Perform frequent ad hoc analysis and assist with special projects, as requested.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience.  
  • Strong knowledge in accounting for loans and funds with a foundational understanding of the upstream processes and impacts to downstream accounting and reporting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Insurance company Investment GAAP and Statutory reporting a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex accounting to different stakeholders in the organization at all levels
  • Pro-active, detail oriented, deadline driven; possess excellent documentation and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully handle close processes, competing priorities and multiple deliverables.

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

The base salary range for this role is
$102,500$195,500 USD

Global Atlantic reserves the right to modify the qualifications and requirements for this position to accommodate business needs and regulatory changes.  Future adjustments may include obtaining specific licenses or certifications to comply with operational needs and conform to applicable industry-specific regulatory requirements, state and federal laws.
