About The Role

The Content Marketing Manager owns the creation, management, deployment, and optimization of G2’s content marketing strategy, including writing and asset development, copyediting, managing freelance resources, and ongoing updates to existing content pieces. At G2, content spans multiple channels, formats, audiences, and funnel stages, and you will be responsible for delivering content that drives leads and engagement across all content touchpoints. 

The ideal candidate for this role has:

  • Experience building and managing a multi-channel, full-funnel content strategy that drives lead generation, brand awareness, thought leadership, and audience engagement
  • Personally written long and short form content, outlines and briefs, conversion-focused landing page and advertising copy, video scripts, and more
  • Collaborated with freelancers, agencies, and marketing teams on aligned goals, content strategy, and ongoing optimization
  • Tracked and analyzed the impact of content on marketing strategy, and optimized for lead generation, audience engagement or brand awareness as outcomes
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • A proactive attitude, takes action quickly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment

In This Role, You Will: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy across multiple channels, audiences, and formats, ensuring alignment with our business goals.
    • Marketing content falls into four primary categories:
      • Thought leadership
      • G2 brand awareness
      • Lead generation and conversion
      • Integrated campaigns
  • Create and deliver content across multiple formats including but not limited to eBooks, guides, blogs, video scripts, webinar abstracts, landing pages, advertisements, infographics, and more, to drive engagement and leads throughout the buyer's journey.
  • Copyedit content to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and alignment with our brand voice.
  • Manage external contributors such as freelancers and agencies, as well as internal content resources, to produce content in alignment with the content strategy.
  • Oversee content publishing schedules, deployment strategies, and content lifecycle from ideation to execution to optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure that content meets the needs of all stakeholders and serves strategic objectives.
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics to gauge content effectiveness, and adjust the strategy as needed.
  • Stay abreast of content marketing trends and continuously innovate to keep G2’s content strategy ahead of the curve.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in content marketing, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies.
  • A collaborative mindset with experience coordinating with different departments and managing external partners.
  • Results-driven approach with demonstrable impact on lead generation and audience engagement through content initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong platform proficiency with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as strong communication, written, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work US-based hours, preferably in Eastern or Central Standard Time
