JOB SUMMARY: 

The Payroll Analyst prepares semi-monthly payroll input to computerized payroll systems for the US offices.  Answers questions from employees regarding payroll matters.  Assists with governmental reporting/compliance and audits.  Coordinates and processes any irregular payments (i.e., bonus or ACH payments, etc).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes semi-monthly payroll in UKG or a different provider in the future.
  • Calculates retro pay, vacation pay, etc.
  • Processes payroll one-time earnings such leave of absence, secondment, bonus, etc.
  • Reviews and uploads permanent benefit elections such as medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • Reviews and enters retro benefit elections such as medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • Runs multiple 401(k) reports from Merrill Lynch and updates employee deductions as required.
  • Reviews and imports timesheets into payroll.
  • Reviews and imports phone reimbursements, personal charges, imputed income, etc.
  • Responsible for auditing information in UKG such as new hires, terminations, taxes assigned to employee, etc.
  • Reviews immigration chart to ensure proper visa taxes are applied.
  • Audits payroll before transmission.
  • Runs, saves and distributes post payroll reports as required
  • Prepares Firm Payroll Funding after each payroll transmission to ensure proper funding in the payroll bank account.
  • Continuous review of payroll processes to ensure efficiency.
  • Reviews and audits payroll master file and year to date totals to ensure accurate W-2 reporting.
  • Maintains all payroll related information in shared payroll folder.
  • Runs reports for management as scheduled and requested.
  • Coordinates with finance to resolve all semi-monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger uploads.
  • Assists employees with employee self-service.
  • Must be comfortable preparing and presenting new ideas to improve current processes while taking into account different scenarios to anticipate any impact they may have on the business.\Prepares semi-monthly, quarterly, year-end and fiscal year-end reports such as AO2 (loans) and G99 reports for management.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, goals, and communications.
  • Assist Manager with tasks and special projects as requested such as opening and following up on UKG cases, gathering information for audits, etc.
  • Assists with implementing and auditing new payroll systems.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:  Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.  CPP a plus.

Experience:  At least 5 years payroll processing experience. 

Skills and Abilities:  Strong knowledge of UKG a plus; excellent attention to detail; clear written and verbal communication skills; solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to maintain confidential information.  Must be a team player and be able to work in a logical and methodical manner.

Attendance: All positions require punctuality and regular attendance. This is a hybrid role located in NYC with a possibility of remote work. Remote work consideration will be given to candidates outside of the New York Metro area.

Technological Skills:  Proficiency in MS Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.

The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
