The Opportunity - Site Reliability Engineer

What you’ll do

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you’ll be joining a team of mix background technologies.  Our mandate is to provide flexible and stable platform solutions that empower our feature development teams to create the highest quality services for our customers.  Day to day, you'll spend time creating and maintaining a “golden path” of FreshBooks’ core services.  This includes data services, the continuous integration pipeline, infrastructure, access control and capacity management.

What you have

You have done this before (even if you didn't call yourself an SRE).  You have had years of experience in one of the following careers: DevOps, Continuous Delivery or Development with experience maintaining your code in Production or System Orchestration

  • Familiarity with some of the technologies we use: Ansible, Apache, AWS, Capybara, MySQL, CentOS, Ember.js, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Python etc
  • Experience writing & maintaining infrastructure-as-code
  • Programming skills - you solve problems with code
  • Experience running code in production on public cloud resources
  • A deep curiosity that motivates you to keep on top of technical trends and informs your ability to suggest tools and approaches to interesting problems
  • The ability to empathize with and communicate clearly to all the other parts of the business
  • Experience & interest working within a Service Ownership model
