The Opportunity

FreshBooks is looking for a globalization product manager to help reshape the world to meet the needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs internationally. You are equal parts product leader and internationalization expert - leading both the globalization of the FreshBooks platform and the implementation of that platform in new markets around the world. You’ll be a key driver of the FreshBooks product strategy that aims to expand our market position outside of North America. 

*This role is remote, and we have a preference for candidates based anywhere in Latin America.

*Candidates must be proficient in English.

Specifically in this position you will:

  • Understand the capabilities of the FreshBooks platform, current and forthcoming, and the product/market fit they enable in each of the geographic markets we’re targeting for expansion.
  • Develop the capabilities of the FreshBooks platform to be adapted to the needs of different markets, including making the UI translatable, and all aspects of the user experience adaptable to cultural, regulatory, and customs of each geographic market. 
  • Together with Product team colleagues, identify the capabilities (including language support) necessary to enable product/market fit in each market. 
  • Work with the appropriate Product teams, vendors, and partners to drive the necessary products scope through the roadmap to completion. Through an iterative cycle of customer feedback, drive continuous improvement of product/market fit.

We think you'll be an amazing fit for this position if your application can demonstrate:

  • Ideal candidates will have 3+ years experience in l10n and i18n for a SAAS product environment. If you bring alternative experience to this opportunity, let us know: We’re all ears!
  • Proven product management, project management, or program management experience, and a track record leading complex software projects through to completion 
  • Experience evaluating, hiring, managing, and ensuring the quality of translation vendors. Alternatively, you’ve worked inside such a company

Other skills:

  • You have excellent written and verbal English language communication skills. Other language skills are a plus.
  • Some experience in international business will be useful in developing empathy for the needs of our customers, who are entrepreneurs and small business owners around the world
  • You understand what comprises a world-class user experience and how to bring together technology and design thinking to accomplish it
  • Big bonus points for
    • Experience with small businesses, accounting, billing, payments domains
    • Experience managing products or projects in non-North-American markets
    • Experience as a small business owner and/or managing products designed for them
