We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Frontend Engineer for our Company Owner Engagement Squad.

As part of a highly skilled cross-functional team which comprises 2 FE Engineers, 3 BE Engineers, 1 Quality Engineer, 1 Product Designer, 1 Product Manager and headed up by a very technical Engineering Manager, you will help shape the future of how FREE NOW assists our corporate customers. Our work allows company owners to manage their fleet, consult their earnings, view invoices, manage documents etc. and help keep them profitable. Typically, we have around 0.5mn users accessing our product monthly, with 3.5mn monthly page views, this is across all European countries that we operate in.

We are also responsible in part for one of our back office products that helps our Driver Operations team manage the Company owners and their fleets.

The Team mission is to: “Help our users make the right decisions over their fleet and business at any time and from anywhere” and our mantra is: “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often”. Above all, we are all about Quality over Quantity, we do this by using Kanban methodology and Pair Programming.

Some of the challenges you will face will be to create one product that works in every one of the 11 EU countries we operate in. It is highly scalable, super configurable but at the same time must be country agnostic, no mean feat, when even the simplest feature can be highly complicated.

To be successful in this role your tech stack must include a deep knowledge of:

  • ReactJs
  • ES6
  • Typescript
  • React-testing-library

And it would be awesome if you had some exposure to:

  • Styled components
  • SWR
  • Testcafe
  • Products that are multilanguage
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Microfrontends
  • Semantic release

We would expect the following from you in your first 30 – 90 days:

30-60 days - Contribute

  • Understand what is needed to achieve our Objectives (individually, squad and tribe)
  • Start participating in technical discussions, suggest improvements when possible
  • Take ownership of fairly complex task
  • Continue asking for help
  • Share feedback

60-90 days - Perform

  • Acquire fully autonomy, become independent (never forgetting collaboration)
  • Live by our Operating Principles
  • Perform!

And never stop asking for help!

The interview process will be in 5 stages and should be completed in less than 4 weeks:

1st - Interview with one of our Talent Acquisition partners - this will be a get to meet you interview, sharing more details about you and discussing the role and FREE NOW in general

2nd – Tech Challenge. Take home challenge and a chance for you to show us what makes you so good at what you do

3rd – Challenge Review. Two of our Senior Engineers will review your challenge with you, look at ways of improving it, challenge you on your decisions but also for you to defend your code. We are a non-egocentric organisation; we expect to be challenged and to challenge

4th – Hiring Manager. Meet with the HM, opportunity to discuss your career, what is important to you, what can FREE NOW do to make you successful

5th – Meet the Team. Get to know your team and what makes them tick
