DESCRIPTION:

The Engineer-Crypto Protocol Staking is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP of Decentralized Strategy & Engineering, the Staking Engineer will be focused on developing and maintaining Foundry’s staking operations.

This position requires onsite work at our headquarters in Rochester, NY, but allows for some remote work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Analyze staking node requirements of masternodes/validators and select the best strategy to provide premium enterprise grade staking services
  • Develop a deep understanding of the relationship between the protocol code and the performance of masternodes/validators
  • Build proof-of-concept staking masternodes/validators to support Operation Team deployments
  • Build staking protocol documentation to guide the efforts of DevOps, SecOps and Advanced monitoring teams
  • Support the research of new protocols and provide comprehensive reports and feedback
  • Actively participate in each protocol's community and larger ecosystem across multiple communication and social channels
  • Work collaboratively with your team as a lead and/or back-up engineer to assigned protocols, as well as with DevOps and Infrastructure engineers

ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Passionate about technology and interested in various crypto assets, blockchain, and tech entrepreneurship
  • Strong understanding of web services, databases, and data analysis
  • Interest in researching topics related to digital assets, and staking
  • Have a working knowledge of databases and monitoring systems
  • Working knowledge of Proof of Stake and/or interest to learn development

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Technical Skills

  • Ubuntu Linux system administration
  • Strong experience on Linux shell scripting
  • Experience in operating, staking and running validating node efforts
  • Experience operating blockchain clients
  • Experience in containerizing modern applications such as Docker and Kubernetes
